A Shapeshifter home to a kaleidoscope of forms, each with their own personalities, urges, desires and origins. Born as a Viera from the very Northern reaches of the realm, Neko is a flirty and fun-loving Veena that tends to act first and think later, preferring to throw caution to the wind in the majority of cases and focus on ‘being here for a good time, not a long time'. Professing to be exactly just as what he works as, this young Bun is always on the lookout for something to occupy his time (or his mouth), attempting to keep those who try to get close to him at arm's length and unwilling to allow anyone a chance to pry away at what is obviously an effort to hide the many layers of secrets this Shapeshifter hides. Some he’s not even aware of. Despite having no clue where his mysterious power seems to hail from (Hint: It’s his past), Neko has an utter fascination with his Shapeshifting ability, dedicating countless hours to researching and testing his own limits, as well as ensuring the safety of others through a concentrated effort of self-containment magicks, determined to protect others from the worst of his many forms. Designated (by the Viera himself) as ‘Shades’, these many forms of Neko’s unsurprisingly have their own goals, some of which will obviously clash with our naturally good-natured Bun. If you want to try getting on this Shifter’s good side, try offering sweets or treats, something he’ll accept no matter the form - and maybe earn a glimpse behind the many masks he wields, entrusting with only a select few the real truth of who he is. [The White Word] A different sort of code that allowed a bit more freedom with its laws. Due to the harsh surroundings Neko’s tribe hailed from, allowing trade with the scarce few occasional merchants guaranteed the survival through the winter seasons, instead of the typical multiple casualties that ensued each cycle.[Shades] Different Shades can be alternate fantasia versions of Neko's self, various forms of imagined self, or rarely even learned/absorbed memories of past known significant persons of interest that entrusted themselves to him.
Different side effects and/or quirks can be evoked from each form (which Neko rushes to record each time he learns something new), while extreme emotions are able to disrupt a shift, or even cause unexpected reactions.[Shifting] The gift of ShapeShifting that Neko uses to Shift to his different forms; different colored shimmering auras and aether sparkles cover Neko whenever he Shifts, depending on whichever form he is Shifting to.
